Hi! My name is Ellie. I enjoy traveling and learning about other cultures. So far, I have been to China, Spain, and Switzerland. I speak a good amount of Mandarin Chinese and like to practice in my free time.

In college, I studied abroad in China, so I know the struggles that come with learning a language and how it can feel lonely when you’re not fluent in the native tongue (another way to say “language"). I originally became interested in becoming an English teacher because I wanted to help immigrants to the United States to feel comfortable living here and speaking English. I’ve tutored English in Boston Chinatown for over two years.

Some common subjects we go over in my class are things like how to get a job, how to buy a car, how to rent an apartment, and how to make an appointment.  I often help my students to prepare for interviews and to create resumes.

I also have over four years of business experience as a marketer and user experience designer at various US companies, so I can help you with your business English.
